Designing Innovative Public Health Solutions (PH290-2) is a new graduate course being taught at the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. The course began on 26-Jan-2011. This site aggregates community contributions from those participating in the course and will do so throughout the semester.

The amount of $$ to maintain the Mexico-US border is astounding: “…the money spent building and maintaining the border fence could be spent to build the equivalent of 300 Seattle main public libraries, 10 Denver International Airports, 204 Disney Concert Halls, 18 miles of the San Francisco Bay Bridge or 500 miles of the High Line Park in New York City.”

Global Social Venture Competition Global Finals & Awards Dinner

Location: Seaborg Room, Faculty Club for Thursday, Andersen Auditorium for Friday, and International House for the Dinner

Top teams from around the world will gather at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley on April 7 & 8 to compete for $45,000 in prizes.  On Thursday, April 7, the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) Finalists will compete for the SIA Award, and on Friday, April 8, the Global Finalist teams will pitch their social ventures and engage in Q&A with a panel of expert judges.  Both pitch sessions are free and open to the public, creating an invaluable opportunity for investors, entrepreneurs, students, and the broader social venture community to hear the latest innovations in the social venture space and meet the teams in person.
